Covid and our practice

We are safe. We are prepared. We are ready to care for you.

Dear Fairfield Dermatology Patients and Families,

We are pleased to inform you we are open for in-office patient care and are ready to serve you. We are committed to protecting the safety of our patients, staff, and our community while maintaining the highest quality of care.

We will continue to see teledermatology visits and we will continue to offer a non-insured telemedicine option that is accessible through our website.

For those of you who require an in-office appointment, we are committed to protecting your safety as well as the safety of our staff and community. In accordance with the latest recommendations from the Center and Disease Control and Connecticut Department of Health, we are instituting the following safeguards during your visit to our office.

1. Come to your appointment alone. Exceptions will be made for very young patients.

2. Wear a face mask. All patients, visitors and staff are required to wear a mask at all times.

3. Temperature will be taken with a no-touch forehead thermometer prior to entering.

4. COVID-19 screening questions will be asked at the time of your visit.

5. Our staff will wear PPE and will guide you to your exam room once you are checked in.

6. Our team member will return to sanitize common areas and your examination room.

Much has changed while you were away.

Renovations to our office have been completed.

We have reduced the number of patient appointments to adhere to social distancing guidelines and the new infection control protocols.
Our staff members will provide you Purell or Lasercyn hand sanitizers during your visit.

Professional cleaning and deep cleaning services will be performed regularly.

We enjoy and value our patients. Our conversations and connection with you are important. Please understand however, that conversations will be significantly reduced to allow for social distancing, reduction of exposure to you as well as our staff, for running on time and for extra disinfection.

For our aesthetics patients, safety has always been and will continue to be our top priority. Please be aware that certain procedures such as lasers, injections, peels and other facial treatments increase the risk of viral exposure and transmission as those procedures require close contact and exposure time without masks. We will be wearing full personal protective equipment for your protection as we perform select procedures on screened patients. However, certain procedures such as laser resurfacing, and facial laser hair removal will require a COVID 19 test. We have a 15 minute COVID test available for some treatments; some procedures may require a PCR test with at least two day results window.

Our team

Our team, including our dermatologists and providers, will be screened daily for symptoms. The temperatures of all our staff will be taken upon arrival to work. Each day our staff members will be required to answer the same health questionnaire as our patients and frequent testing of our staff members will take place as testing equipment becomes more available.

Thank you

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we adapt to these new changes. We are grateful for your confidence and trust in our professionalism and care. We look forward to servicing you and welcoming you back to Fairfield Dermatology.
