Emily Gan, PA-C

Emily Gan is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in dermatology. She received her Bachelor of Science in molecular & cell biology from the University of Connecticut then went on to earn her Master of Science in physician assistant studies at Northeastern University in Boston.

Before joining Fairfield Dermatology in 2024, Emily was involved in acne and laser clinical trials and practiced alongside leading dermatologists in Boston and central Massachusetts where she provided comprehensive dermatologic care in urban, suburban, and underserved communities.
 
Emily offers a comprehensive range of dermatologic services and specializes in acne treatment, which stems from her personal journey with acne during her teenage years. She is committed to providing personalized care to patients of all ages and she strongly advocates for shared decision-making in patient care.
 
Emily is thrilled to return to her native Connecticut and is dedicated to serving her community. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of PAs.
 
Outside of her professional practice, Emily enjoys traveling, scuba diving, pottery-making, and exploring new restaurants. She has volunteered at the finish line at the Boston Marathon since 2021.
 
A physician assistant (PA) is a nationally certified and state-licensed medical professional who practices medicine under the supervision of a physician. The scope of practice of a dermatologic PA includes conducting patient histories and physician exams, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, diagnosing medical and dermatologic conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans, prescribing medications, performing procedures, assisting in surgery, and counseling on acute, chronic, and preventative health conditions.
